I create photographs of wild, quiet places—scenes meant to be felt as much as seen. Each print is an invitation to pause, breathe, and reconnect with the natural world.
I set out early, letting the land guide me, unsure where I would stop and unsure what spring might offer. The early morning air had some snap to it, hovering around freezing. There was no wind. I stopped at this pond, initially disappointed by the lack of life in early spring. Then I saw the birches in bloom, their red fronds mirrored in the water, and wonder settled in. I gave thanks to the trees for the display they had shared. In offering that thank-you, I bound myself to that place and to the life within it. For a moment, we were one. I was at peace.
